Getting Started
How do I connect two devices?
- Open TDS QR on your TV/display device and select TV Mode
- Open TDS QR on your phone and select Control Mode
- Either scan the QR code shown on the TV, or tap "Enter PIN manually" and enter the 6-digit PIN
- Once connected, you can start adding content!
Do both devices need to be on the same WiFi?
Yes, both devices must be connected to the same WiFi network. TDS QR uses local network communication, which requires devices to be on the same network.
Do I need an internet connection?
No! TDS QR works entirely over your local network. Once the app is installed, no internet connection is required.
Do I need to create an account?
No account is needed. TDS QR works immediately after installation with no sign-up required.
Connection Issues
I can't connect to the TV device
Try these steps:
- Check WiFi: Ensure both devices are on the same WiFi network
- Restart TV Mode: Close and reopen TV Mode to generate a new PIN
- Check PIN: Make sure you're entering the correct 6-digit PIN
- Network settings: Some networks block device-to-device communication. Try a different network if possible
- Firewall: Enterprise networks may have firewalls blocking local connections
The connection keeps dropping
- Move both devices closer to your WiFi router
- Check for WiFi interference from other devices
- Ensure neither device goes to sleep (disable auto-lock temporarily)
- Try restarting both the app and your WiFi router
The QR code won't scan
- Ensure adequate lighting on the TV screen
- Hold your phone steady, about 6-12 inches from the screen
- Clean your phone's camera lens
- Try using the manual PIN entry instead
Content & Display
How do I create a QR code?
- In Control Mode, tap the QR Codes tab
- Enter a name (e.g., "Menu", "WiFi", "Instagram")
- Enter the URL or text for the QR code
- Tap Add QR
- Your QR code is now ready to display!
How do I add images?
- In Control Mode, tap the Images tab
- Tap Select Image
- Choose an image from your photo library
- Optionally add a name/caption
- The image will be added to your content
How do I start the slideshow?
- Add at least one QR code or image
- Tap the Start on TV button
- Your content will begin displaying on the TV
- Use the controls to play/pause or navigate manually
How do I delete a QR code or image?
Swipe left on the item you want to delete, then tap Delete to confirm.
